Switching Source Control Paradigms
August 17, 2023Kelly Bigler Promoted to Director of Consulting at Synergex
October 4, 2023SDI 2023.09.1521 is now available for download in the Synergex Resource Center. This latest Synergy DBL Integration for Visual Studio release includes the following key enhancements and fixes.
- Tab-only completion enhancements.
- Resolved an issue where pressing ENTER/return wouldn’t advance to a new line during an IntelliSense completion options session.
- In Visual Studio, when tab-only IntelliSense completion is activated, using the up or down arrow key during an IntelliSense session will revert completion back to all symbols, akin to C# behavior.
- Typing a period won’t initiate completion when IntelliSense is set to tab-only mode.
- FOREACH statement updates. Addressed an issue where background compiles for IntelliSense sometimes wouldn’t run, leading to substantial delays in IntelliSense loading.
- Lambda expression in routines. A routine with a lambda expression will no longer trigger an ILASM error (“undeclared variable lcldata_0$hoistfld”) when the project is compiled in debug mode and there’s a hoisted field marked as disposable.
Important Notice: Visual Studio 2019 no longer supported.
Beginning with this release, SDI no longer supports Visual Studio 2019. The minimum supported version is Visual Studio 2022, version 17.2. This change was made for several reasons:
- Optimized for Visual Studio 2022. By concentrating on Visual Studio 2022, SDI can benefit from its 64-bit architecture, resulting in enhanced performance and memory utilization. This will also enable SDI users to take advantage of Visual Studio 2022’s advanced features for solution development.
- Streamlined maintenance and support. With support only for Visual Studio 2022, the SDI team can center their attention on a single version, leading to faster bug resolutions and improved user support.
- Stability and reliability. Visual Studio 2022 brings increased stability and reduces compatibility issues. With these changes, SDI continues to align with industry standards and Microsoft’s advocacy for Visual Studio 2022 as the premier development platform. We encourage our SDI users to upgrade to access the latest features.
