The VFYCTL environment variable changes the default behavior of the isutl utility.

Discussion

Setting VFYCTL to “NO_DSCAN” tells isutl not to scan the data file before verifying the index. Normally, isutl prescans the data file to determine if the data file is capable of being recovered.
