Third-party software requirements

xfODBC is supported for use only with versions of third-party software that are currently supported by the manufacturer. For information on requirements for stand-alone and client/server configurations, see xfODBC requirements and installation.

a. We do not recommend installing xfODBC to run in a shared configuration when you are running Visual Studio or the client machine for xfODBC development.

b. You must install Synergy DBL Integration for Visual Studio (SDI) to get xfODBCSpecialization15.dll, which is required for xfODBC support for Visual Studio. (This file enables data sources to be used in the data designer.)

c. For SQL Server, we recommend that you always use the most recent Microsoft ODBC Driver with the latest update.
