Operands
Operands provide the basic data that will be combined to give an expression its value. You can use the following types of operands in an expression:
- Literals (for example, “abc”, 123, $ERR_FNF)
- Variables, in simple, subscripted, ranged, and path forms (for example, avar, dvar[1,2], avar(1:2), avar.fld)
- Function references (for example, %afunc)
- Data reference operations (for example, ^a(dvar), ^size(arg))
- Expressions (for example, “abc” + “def”, a.eq.b)
- Value assignments (for example, dvar = 3)
