The SYN_VSS_WATCH_FILE environment variable defines the file specification where the SynergyVSSWriter service will watch for Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) events.

Value

The filename where SynergyVSSWriter will watch for VSS events to occur. Wildcards are supported. The default filename is *.is*.

Discussion

When a system file backup is started manually or automatically with the specified filename in either the default path or one specified by SYN_VSS_WATCH_PATH, SynergyVSSWriter will be invoked.
